Briley was on WFAA Channel 8 news in a report by David Schecter. She is one of the elite athletes from various sports participating in a study at the University of Texas Dallas, conducted by Dr. Mihai Nadin. The research goal is to determine if a child will be able to succeed in a certain area. Click here to read the article and to watch the video.

Briley will be in Huntsville, Texas later this week for the Junior National Training Team Camp. Two juniors will be selected to represent the USA team at the TOP Gym.
Be sure to check out the International Gymnast Magazine of November. It has a section, called "Just Juniors." The International Gymnast "profiles the U.S. junior national teams for men and women." You can see a small preview below (first two). It also has a picture of Briley from the 2009 International Japan Gymnastics Competition (right).

Last night, Briley concluded her second day of the competition at the Junior Japan International with another bronze medal on uneven bars with a 13.9! She finished fourth on balance beam with a 13.35. Good job Briley! Full results have been posted from the meet.

Briley competed at the 2009 Junior Japan International. She placed third in the all-around right behind Russia's Viktoriya Komova and Japan's Natsumi Sasada. Briley qualified to all four events in the event finals. Congratulations and Good luck Briley! Full results have been posted from the meet.

Today, Briley wrote a new journal. Briley and her USA teammate, Sophina DeJesus made it to Japan safely yesterday. They will be competing on Tuesday and Wednesday at the 2009 Junior Japan International. This competition will include gymnasts from all over the world, such as Australia, China, France, Japan and Russia. On September 5, 2009 Briley attended the Gymnastics Association of Texas (GAT) Ceremony of Honors in Austin, Texas. The Honor Award is presented annually to persons who have brought honor to the State of Texas by their service as leaders of National Organizations, coaching of champions and/or winning of National titles in gymnastics. Briley celebrated with Brandi Lewis, WOGA's acro coach, her grandmother, at a Luau and hula banquet. Click here to view the pictures from the event.

Briley received her first international assignment today! She and Sophina DeJesus from SCEGA will be representing the USA team at the 2009 Junior Japan International. This competition will be in Yokohama, Japan at the end of September. Congratulations Briley! More information about this competition will be coming soon.

Congratulations Briley: 2009-2010 Junior US National Team Member! Briley's second VISA Championships concluded today in Dallas, Texas. She did really well today and she improved her all-around score from 54.550 (prelims) to 55.350 (finals). She finished 8th in the all-around, 10th on vault and 9th on uneven bars. Briley, along with top 10 juniors, made the Junior US National Team. Good job Briley! Briley is proud of her team mate Madison Kocian placing 6th AA and making the National team! Her Senior gym mates Becca Bross and Ivana Hong made the Senior National team, representing WOGA very well! Full results from today have been posted. Briley just finished competing the first day of the Junior VISA Championships in Dallas, Texas. Right now, she is tied for 11th in the all-around out of 31 gymnasts. Briley started on uneven bars, where she placed 8th scoring a 13.45. On the next event, she had a fall on balance beam with a 13.45. Briley scored a 13.45 on floor exercise and a 14.25 on vault. Congratulations on a great preliminary round! Briley will continue her competition during the finals on Saturday at 1:00 PM CST. Full results have been posted.

Briley's second VISA Championships will begin this week! The first day of competition will be on Thursday, August 13 at 1:00 PM CST. She will be last person to go on uneven bars during the first rotation. The second day will be on Saturday, August 15 at 1:00 PM CST. On that day, she will be first up on balance beam during the first rotation. Briley will need to place in the top ten to make the Junior US National Team. Good luck Briley!
USA Gymnastics, International Gymnast, and Inside Gymnastics will provide live scoring, news, pictures, etc during the VISA Championships. We will do our best to keep Briley's website updated as soon as we get news and results.

Briley competed at the US Classic last night in Des Moines, Iowa. Her meet was highlighted with a great uneven bars and floor exercise routines scoring 13.7 and 14.1 respectively. Briley will be competing at the US Classic next weekend on July 25 in Des Moines, Iowa. A select of juniors (including Briley) will be competing in the senior session at 7:00 p.m. at the Vets Auditorium. Briley has already qualified for the VISA Championships in Dallas, Texas. She will use this competition as a warm up. The Universal Sports will be broadcasting the US Classic live. You can find more information by going to UniversalSports.Com.

It was a festive occasion for the WOGA competitive teams, July 10 at Canyon Creek Country Club. Both the boy's and the girl's teams celebrated a successful 2009 competitive season with dinner and dancing.
Briley and elite team mates along with Nastia, enjoyed signing autographs for the Level 8-10 girl's WOGA Summer Camp in Frisco. The weeklong training for the young women ended with meeting the WOGA elites and autograph session.

Briley was thrilled to be able to support and attend her gym mate Nastia Liukin's receipt of her 2008 U.S. Olympic Committee Co-Sportswoman of the Year award in a presentation with Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert and USA Gymnastics President Steve Penny as part of an Olympic Day celebration held at WOGA Dallas on June 23.

Briley was proud to be highlighted along with WOGA, in the June 2009 D Magazine,'WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT DALLAS' issue, on Page 48 entitled: "Because One of These Girls Could One Day be --- An Olympic Medalist". Briley is shown with teammate Alyssa Baumann, and gym mates Ivana Hong, Lauren Farley and Rebecca Bross. The article has been posted on the in the media page. On May 14, Briley participated in Bowling for Kid's Sake which is Big Brothers Big sisters signature fundraising event. The funds she and her team helped raised, over $1,500, went toward the program . With a century of experience in matching volunteer Bigs with children, Big Brothers Big Sisters has the model and method for making these relationships strong, fun, and happy in an effort to help make children productive. Yesterday at the 2009 American Classic in San Diego, California, Briley finished eighth in the all-around with a 53.616. She finished sixth on vault with a 13.950 and ninth on floor exercise with a 13.6. Briley qualified to the 2009 VISA Championships in Dallas, Texas. Congratulations Briley! Briley recently completed the Jon D. Williams Cotillion 6 week course. This is a traditional stepping-stone to reinforced manners and etiquette. Cotillion means to 'assemble a group of young people to appreciate and respect their role in society through dance and social etiquette education.' Briley had a wonderful time learning time honored manners and dances. See more pictures in her journal.

Briley and her WOGA teammates traveled to Houston National Invitational this weekend. On Friday night, Briley helped the WOGA team to win the Team Cup ahead of Texas 6 Pak and Cypress. Briley scored 9.575 on vault (video) and 9.825 on floor exercise (video). On Saturday, Briley finished fifth in the all-around with a 53.350 in the elite divison. She won a gold medal on floor exercise with a 14.100 and a bronze medal on vault scoring 13.850. Good job Briley! Full results have been posted from the meet.

Briley competed at the 2009 WOGA Classic earlier today, where she finished sixth in the all-around. She won floor exercise with a 13.5. Briley then grabbed a silver medal on vault with a 14.0. In December, Briley performed in the 3rd Act, Christmas Laugh-In. The evening was a collaboration with adults and youth. Everyone brought toys for children at Dobie Primary school. 98% of the students are from economically disadvantaged homes, so for many, the gifts the school and youth were providing is all they will receive.
